A release from the World's Fair Press office on June 5, tells the sad story of a

BABY PORCUPINE DROWNED BY BEAVER DAM

SEATTLE, June 5 —- Tragedy at the Forest Products Industry Pavilion at the Seattle World's Fair today--the baby procupine [sic] born at the exhibit a week ago is dead.

It happened this way:

A beaver in the exhibit was busy doing what comes naturally--building a dam.  The water backed up and trapped "Needles," the baby porcupine, and "Needles" drowned.
