Page 4 of the December 22, 1943, Naval Air Station Pasco, Washington, Sky-Writer.

This page includes the paper's masthead with the following names:

  • Commanding Officer: B. B. Smith, Commander, USNR
  • The newspaper staff included

The paper was served by the Camp Newspaper Service, which was started by Jack Gordon based on an idea started in the Army.

    From the Editorially Speaking column:

"Never forget that everything you do, say, or write, as a  Navy man will reflect, as a credit or discredit, on the honored service of which you have become a part."

Take out the words "as a Navy man" from that sentence and you have one of Jack Gordon's rules for living that he followed for the rest of his life. (He was 22 1/2 years old when these words were penned.)
