"Family Pictures"
Here's a posed portrait of the Gordon family as we were in (probably) early 1957. It was taken at the house on 47th and there's no Ann here. She was born in January of 1957 and we got her that summer. Mom's positively radiant in this picture, while Dad looked like he was wondering what he'd gotten involved in.
Here's Mom lighting a candle. Mary looks pretty interested. John's
standing back.
(picture developed in August 1960, but hand dated as
"1959")
Ok... Roberta Gordon's backyard with NO vegetation? Three beautiful kids anyway.
It's a cow, I tell ya! My teacher told me that all cows have four stomachs and this things got four stomachs, so its gotta be a cow!
Voices.. Voices... I hear voices
Here we are standing by Mom's front planter in view of the "Herrickson's" House. Kathleen, John, Mary (in back) and little Ann. The tall lady was the kindergarten teacher.
Here we are all admiring the Catholic NW Progress.
Jack and Roberta on the couch,
John, Ann, Mary, and little Joseph on the floor.
Oops, only thing showing of Joseph is his head. That's ok though, as he grew taller.
This was on a trip to the Land that Time Forgot. The City by
the Bay.
The adopted hometown of Portlandian Jack Gordon.

Probably the one of the best Jack Gordon and kids picture extant. It's from 1964 and we're at the Seattle Center, it's Ann, John, Mary, Dad, and Joseph. (Elvis had nothing on John!)
And here we are in 1969 at Seattle University. Jack was receiving an award from the University. We are Ann, Mom, Dad (in back, of course), Joseph, John and Mary. Related story and more informationn.
I don't know what happened to the color of this picture. It's from the
70's and was our official family picture for
Assumption Parish in Seattle. It's a couple of years later than the Seattle University picture
above,
and Joseph has grown about a foot.
Dad, Ann, John (in back), Joseph, Mary (in back) and Mom.

We jump a bit here to January of 1989 and the Hospitality Industry Legislative Gala where almost the whole Gordon clan showed up. Left to right {as usual} are Beverly and John Gordon and Roberta Gordon, then Joseph Gordon, Gary (far back) and Mary Pederson (far front), Jack in back and then Lori Weeks. (Daughter Ann and husband Gary Thomas were still living in Sacramento and unfortunately missed the shindig.)
