Here are his beautiful children (so far mostly the oldest three... gotta find more of Joe)
Judging from the processing ID stamps and fountain pen ink color of Roberta's annotation on the reverse, this picture of niece Kathleen was probably taken at the Ravenna Park picnic shown at the top of Mary's page.
Yessssss....I'm so cute....
A worried looking John wonders if the cyclone fence behind them is enough to
keep them from falling to the briny depths below.
Probably taken in the late 50's or early 1960 on the Oregon Coast as the Gordon
family saw
"the U.S.A. in their (Seafair, convertible) Chevrolet."
Looks like dad's shadow.
Hey this is like King of the Mountain.....
He went Thataway.....
And who got cropped????
Yup, that's Mary, Ann, and number one son, John.
We're on the beach somewhere. The picture was developed in Sept 1959.
Also from Summer of 1959, we've got the Gordon clan waving. Well we're all waving but John. And he looks like he's looking at the first coming of Jaws!
Here's Mom lighting a candle. Mary looks pretty interested. John's
standing back.
(picture developed in August 1960, but hand dated as
"1959")
Ok... Roberta Gordon's backyard with NO vegetation?
Three beautiful kids
It's a cow, I tell ya! My teacher told me that all cows have four stomachs
and this things got four stomachs, so its gotta be a cow!
Voices.. Voices... I hear voices
Here we are standing by Mom's front planter in view of the "Herrickson's" House. Kathleen, John, Mary (in back) and little Ann. The tall lady was the kindergarten teacher.
Here we are all admiring the Catholic NW Progress.
Jack and Roberta on the couch,
John Ann Mary, and little Joseph on the floor.
Oops, only thing showing of Joseph is his head. That's ok though, as he grew taller.
A trip to the Land that Time Forgot. The City by
the Bay.
The adopted hometown of Portland Jack Gordon.
Probably the greatest Jack Gordon and kids picture extant.
It's from 1964 and we're at the Seattle Center, it's Ann, John, Mary, Dad, and Joseph.
(Elvis had nothing on us!)

And here we are in 1969 at Seattle University. Jack was receiving an award
from the University.
We are Ann, Mom, Dad (in back, of course), Joseph, John and Mary.
Related story and more information.
I don't know what happened to the color of this picture. It's from the
70's and was our official family picture for
Assumption Parish in Seattle. It's a couple of years later than the Seattle University picture
above,
and Joseph has grown about a foot.
Dad, Ann, John (in back), Joseph, Mary (in back) and Mom.
We jump a bit here to January of 1989 and the Hospitality Industry Legislative
Gala where almost
the whole Gordon clan showed up.
(left to right {as usual}) are Beverly and John Gordon and Roberta Gordon, then Joseph
Gordon,
Gary (far back) and Mary Pederson (far front), Jack in back and then Lori Weeks.
(Daughter Ann and husband Gary Thomas were still living in Sacramento and
unfortunately missed the shindig.)

and we end with
Son and Father.... Any question?
