U.S. Senator Estes Kefauver was one of the representatives from the State of Tennessee at the Tennessee Honor Day ceremony at the Plaza of the States at the Seattle World's Fair on September 1, 1962. Here host Governor Albert D. Rosellini is presenting the Senator with a set of the World's Fair Trade Dollars. In the center is Maj. Gen. Van D. Nunally, Jr., who represented Tennessee Governor Ellington at the Century 21.

Lined up in the front row of the honored guests stage, General Nunally joined Senator and former vice presidential candidate Kefauver, Governor Rosellini, and U.S. Senator and future vice president and presidential candidate Hubert H. Humphrey of Minnesota. They appear to laughing at something Master of Ceremonies and Plaza Chief Jack Gordon was saying. Humphrey was in Seattle for the Salute to American Labor ceremony held two days later on September 3.
