Clarence Martin, here mentioned as Kennedy's Under Secretary of Commerce for Transportation, had served as Washington State Governor from 1933-1941 and is the namesake of Martin Stadium at Washington State University in Pullman. George Kachlein of AAA had earlier served as president of Greater Seattle, Inc.
