This mockup of a Time Magazine cover has seen better days, but here's Jack Gordon as he looked in the summer of 1953.
Based on his work with Welcome Lane, Greater Seattle, Seafair, and Seattle University, Jack Gordon was selected as one of America's top 100 newsmakers by Time Magazine.
The Seattle Chamber of Commerce ran a celebratory advertisement in the November 19, 1953, issue of The Seattle Times saluting the nominees. (It was a large advertisment at 24" tall and almost 30" wide.) There were a hundred "young men" selected as potential newsmakers. The only two I personally interacted with turned out OK.
If you "click" the newspaper, it should open outside this page and have a magnifying glas icon that will allow you to view it almost full-sized.
